Another ’12 Opening for Richmond?
In this week’s RPV Chairman’s update (btw, I’m still undecided if I like the new format–it’s easier on the eyes yet a little too formal) Mike Thomas wrote that RPV is working on securing another “big” star for the RPV Breakfast on May 30th, the morning of the convention and the day on which actual voting will take place. Could this be another 2012 contender? Any guesses on who it might be?

here is for hoping it’s Mark Sanford
Since the breakfast is a ticketed event ($35 a pop), I think it’s going to end up being someone with a great deal of star appeal. Sanford definitely has a (growing) niche amongst fiscal conservatives/Paulistas, but I’m not sure he’s that big of a star yet. Palin, on the other hand, would put meat in the seats. Not that she’s my gal for ’12 (Right now, I’m leaning Coburn or Sanford), but I think her speech in Indianapolis last week proved she is definitely a draw.
